Course Spotlight – BA (Hons) Music Production

Orchestrating music is just one component of the Futureworks BA (Hons) Music Production course. The course is constructed to ensure you experience all aspects of the role of music producer, to help you understand and prepare you for a music industry career.

Guided by our industry-active tutors, you’ll be introduced to production equipment, software, hardware, and industry-standard practices and expertise. You’re assessed on what you create, and the course modules are focused on helping you develop your talent, promote your brand and build your music business profile.

This gives our students a microcosm of creative collaboration that mirrors the creative industry and enables them to work across disciplines on personal and course-based projects.

The innovative ‘Futureworks Music‘ label allows you to release music, work with artists, and gain experience in signing contracts and licensing music – all vocational experiences that will benefit your future music career. As with all our Bachelor of Arts degree programmes, the opportunities and careers are broad and varied; there are many career paths you could take, such as Music Producer, Artist, Studio Engineer, Sound Designer, Sonic Art, Live Sound, Game Audio, Film Sound, Composer, Studio Manager, Label A&R, marketing, commercial branding and teaching. You could also consider progression to postgraduate study, such as MA and MSc programmes in Sound & Music Production Audio, Sound Design, Electroacoustic Composition and more.
