At Futureworks, we pride ourselves on being inclusive for every student, including those who prefer a calmer, more relaxed and quieter environment to enrol on their new course. That’s why we created our Running Start event, which will be hosted this year on Thursday, September 5th.
Held at our Riverside Campus, Running Start is purposefully managed to appeal to students who have difficulty navigating busy, noisy and hectic events due to challenges such as anxiety. Running Start also appeals to people who need more time to complete paperwork or process information and those who feel more comfortable, happier and confident enrolling in a quieter environment. We often find that our mature students, those who have been away from formal education for a while, along with care-experienced students and people new to the UK, also prefer our more relaxed Running Start events.
At the Running Start event, we’ll talk you through all the stages of your enrolment. We’ll help you complete the forms and paperwork and support you every step of the way. Here’s what takes place:
- Firstly, we’ll assist you in completing all your enrolment paperwork with support from our helpful team.
- You’ll have your photograph taken for your Futureworks identity card.
- We’ll give you a guided tour of Futureworks, so you’ll feel more comfortable and confident navigating our facilities during your first week.
- You’ll receive your technical information, including login details, email, and Virtual Learning Environment passwords.
- You’ll receive information about our student support services and you’ll meet some of our student support team, including our Welfare Officer, Hazel Sewell.
- You can ask questions to our Student Services, Admissions and Facilities teams.
- Finally, you can chat with current students who’ll help you with anything you need to know about our schools and courses and about life as a student at Futureworks.
If you’d like to enrol in a more relaxed atmosphere via Running Start, please get in touch:
