Futureworks Open Days

We’re very proud of our school, and we’d love the chance to show it off to you. Of course, the Open Day is not just about amazing equipment, it’s also the perfect chance to speak to tutors and staff about the courses themselves, how they will work for you and how to become a Futureworks student.

NEWS FLASH! For the first time we will be running the open event at both our Riverside and MediaCityUK venues. For those of you interested in our courses in Visual Effects, Filmmaking, Post Production and all things film and TV, our staff will be running talks and demonstrations for you at our MediaCityUK studios. Further information can be found below.

Thinking about studying Games, Animation, Sound Engineering or Music Production?

At our Riverside Open Day, we’re here to make sure you get fully acquainted with our tutors, facility and courses. We have admissions staff and tutors on hand to answer any questions you may have, as well as showcasing some of the fantastic work our students produce. If you have questions about where each course might lead you, we offer advice on career pathways and opportunities available to you upon graduation.

Once you have been introduced to some of our tutors, you will be taken on a guided tour of our facilities, where you will get to see some live demonstrations hosted by some of our students – this gives you a taster of the environment you will be working in.

After the tour you may have further questions to ask us, or even feel you are ready to apply, in which case we can talk you through the application process and answer any additional queries you might have.

The Open Day runs from 12pm – 4pm, and you can drop in at any time. There is no need to book ahead, we have the staff and set-up to accommodate a large amount of people and we encourage people to bring family and friends along too.

If you’re unable to make our next event, don’t worry – we have Open Days throughout the year. If you don’t want to wait for the next one please call us to arrange your personal tour.

If you need any assistance or more information, just call one of our team on 0161 214 4600 or drop us an email. We will be happy to help.

Thinking about studying Filmmaking, Visual Effects, Film Editing or Post Production?

At the Futureworks Studios Open Day we will be running talks about our Film and TV courses at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. If you would also like to visit our main campus at Riverside, Manchester (you may well be spending half of your time here when you study with us) we would advise you to come to one of the earlier talks. It takes approximately 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes by public transport to travel between our two venues.

After the talk we will show you around the studios – it’s a busy place, and you’ll be able to see some of our current students filming. There will also be a tour of our Production, Green screen and Motion Capture areas.
