Disability Referral & Assessment Fund

Applications Open on 1st August 2024 at 9am.

Deadline:  Last day of the academic year in Semester 2 or until funds are available in accordance with the budget. The hardship fund is limited by the total size of the budgeted funds. It is allocated on a first come, first served basis.


A financial contribution towards the cost of a specific assessment or item that has been recommended, without which you would be placed at a disadvantage when studying or would not be able to begin or continue your studies.
Before completing an application for the Disability Referral & Assessment Fund, you should meet with our Welfare Officer who can discuss with you the process, the difficulties you are having and complete any necessary assessment referrals forms. What can you apply for? 

  • ADHD Referrals Assessment Contribution Fee (£199)
    Students are required to pay a contribution fee towards an ADHD assessment that is a referral made by Futureworks. You can apply for this fund to cover the full cost of £199 contribution fee towards your assessment  
  • Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) Referrals Assessment Contribution Fee (£100)
    Students are required to pay a contribution fee towards a SpLD assessment that is a referral made by Futureworks. You can apply for this fund to cover the full cost of £100 contribution fee towards your assessment  
  • Disability Equipment Contribution Fee (£200)
    Disability Equipment Contribution Fee offers a full or partial reimbursement to eligible students who have needed to contribute £200 towards the cost of a computer, or other recommended equipment that has been recommended through a DSA needs assessment. 

Funding amount:  

Dependent on contribution fee applied for. 

Eligibility: 

  • fully enrolled at Futureworks 
  • self-declared as one or more of the declared underrepresented groups
