An introduction to Futureworks

At Futureworks, you can study for a creative education in specialised Sound, Film, Visual Effects, Game or Animation degrees. You’ll learn from proactive industry professionals and get hands-on experience within purpose-built facilities housing the latest technology and equipment. You’ll master your chosen degree within a collaborative, creative community that genuinely cares about you and your future, and you’ll graduate with the vocational skills, in-depth knowledge and technical expertise required for a successful and fulfilling career in the Creative Industry and a future that works for you.

 

What to expect at a Futureworks Open Day

Futureworks Open Days are a casual opportunity for you to explore what we have to offer. Our tutors introduce you to our variety of creative courses; they’ll answer your questions and help you make an informed choice on your creative education with us. You’ll meet with current students, staff and alumni, and they’ll guide you on a tour of both our Riverside and Media City locations, sharing first-hand experience of what student life and learning is like at Futureworks. We reveal the facilities available to students, display student work and perform live demonstrations in our many studios and classrooms, showcasing our hands-on, vocational approach to preparing students for a creative career.

Following your tour, our Student Services team is on hand to assist with your application process, student finance, accommodation, and support services, and they’ll answer your questions about student life at Futureworks. You can revitalise with a drink and snacks, meet other visitors, and, if you wish, revisit any locations. Our tutors are available for further tours, discussions, and questions, and if you need some space, we have a quiet room for those in need of relaxation and respite.

Futureworks Open Days operate between 12:00 and 4:00 pm, with tours scheduled throughout the event. If you’re interested in our Film & TV courses, Media City studio tours operate between 12:00 and 2:00 pm. Afterwards, you can continue your tour at our Riverside Campus to see our post-production studios, meet with other students, staff and alumni, and enjoy a drink and snacks.

Our Open Days are relaxed, calm, casual and creative. There’s no pressure, just helpful advice for you to make the right decision for the next step toward a fulfilling education that will lead to a rewarding career in the creative industry.
