Over the summer we have been working on loads of upgrades and improvements to our facilities and equipment, but the biggest change is the Library.
Located on Floor 3 of our Riverside building, what was once a small room hidden from sight has undergone a much-anticipated revamp. The transformation has breathed new life into not just the Library itself but to Floor 3 as a whole. The makeover has opened the space out into the corridor, creating more space for books and seating, and more opportunity for connection. It also opens up the Student Advice Centre, helping students access support and advice whenever they need it.
The refresh has meant a big re-organisation of the books themselves, re-labelling and improving the categorisation so that it’s easier for students to find what they need. It might not sound like the most exciting part of the job; however, our collection of books, magazines, journals, and software manuals has been carefully curated by our teaching and support staff to cover every area that students might need to research during their course. All recommended reading is included in the Library where possible, and so making sure that the collection is well ordered and maintained is an important task.
We hope our students enjoy the new Library area, as well as the other updates we’ve made to the building – we’ll be bringing you more information about those soon!
