Every year, the Futureworks School of Film, TV & Media hosts its annual student film screening, which culminates in an awards evening. This year’s screening, which took place on June 20th, showcased nominated films by Futureworks students.
This year’s Film, TV & Media Screening and Awards Evening was a glittering success with students from years two and three attending and representing all three courses, these being BA (Hons) in Post Production for TV & Film, Independent Filmmaking and Visual Effects. Our Head of Film, TV & Media, Richard Hellawell, was the MC for the evening, awarding students with their very own Oscar-esque golden statuette in well-deserved recognition of their award-winning work.
The entries this year were of an incredibly high-standard and judging nominations was a challenging exercise for the Tutors involved. In the end, It was a close call selecting the victors from such skilled and talented nominations, but the eventual winners were:

Best Editor, Isobel Sparke: Gnarly in Pink

Best Grading, Gemma Scriberras: Birdsong
Best 3D, James Stockton: Porsche
Best Director, Tatiana Rosten: Smoking Kills
Best Film, Poppy Parker: Homing
