This month’s staff spotlight is about Anna Whitehead, our Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Games Design. Anna is also a well respected board game designer, having released 3 games through her own company, Ingenium Games.
An award winning tabletop game designer and publisher, Anna started out in product development, making toys and gifts for properties such as Star Wars, Dr Who, and Disney.
Having received a commission from Hasbro to work on a new range of card games, Anna formed her own business, Ingenium Games, and now publishes a number of games, gaining international distribution and licensees.
Anna brings a commercial and business-like element to her teaching, along with her academic understanding of games, gameplay, and game theory.
As well as being Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Games Design she teaches a range of subjects including the historical and cultural context of games, career management and professional practice; and takes on the vital role of Producer for 3rd years as they work on their final pieces.
Most recently Anna has launched Would Like To Meet which is a hilarious game of cheeky characters and ridiculous matches based on the good old days of newspaper personal ads. You can get your copy here.
