At Futureworks, we believe that our students are at the heart of everything we do. We actively encourage feedback and ensure there are robust systems in place to give every student a voice. Our courses are designed for you, and the best way to improve them, along with our facilities and services, is by listening to your input.

As a Futureworks degree student, you will become a member of our partner University’s Students’ Union (SU). The SU is dedicated to improving student life, offering societies, sports teams, volunteering, and representation. It’s a fantastic way to engage in a democratic body that ensures student involvement at every decision-making level.

Each of our nine courses elects a Student Partner for each year of study. These representatives meet monthly to plan events, voice concerns, and support clubs and societies. They maintain regular communication with their peers to gather feedback, which they present at School Committees held each semester. These meetings include Heads of School, Programme Leaders, and staff from Student Services and Facilities, providing a direct line to the decision-makers.
“Student Partners are the backbone of the Futureworks student community – we help get your feedback to the right ears. It’s our responsibility to give you opportunities to speak your mind and give feedback on your time at Futureworks and how it could be improved. We then take that feedback and ensure it gets to the appropriate channels, whether that be Student Services, Facilities, Programme Leaders and Heads of School, or even Senior Management!”
Elected to represent each school, Lead Student Partners attend both School Committees and institutional meetings, ensuring that student voices influence Futureworks’ strategic decisions. They participate in the Academic Board, contributing to decisions that impact the entire student body, fostering a partnership between students and staff.
The Principal Student Partner, elected by the entire student body, oversees the Student Partner committee, setting agendas and chairing meetings. This role also includes representing students at institutional meetings and the Industry Advisory Group, where they help shape educational programs alongside industry leaders.
