Making an application
Applications for September 2026 are now open.
We accept applications throughout the academic year, and we continue to give all applications consideration until either results day in August, or when the course is full.
There are several different key dates and deadlines to be aware of in the UCAS application cycle which can be found here:
To apply for a degree course you will need a UCAS account. To begin the process go to www.ucas.com and choose the option to apply for an Undergraduate course. Here you will be asked which course you are applying for (a maximum of 5). You’ll also need to add your qualifications, write your personal statement and include your reference. The application fee charged by UCAS for 2026 entry is £28.50 for up to five choices. You can also apply directly to Futureworks by filling in the application form above, or one of the forms on the individual course pages.
In order to apply to our programmes you will need to be predicted or have achieved Level 3 qualifications which have UCAS tariff points (see individual course pages for details). These can be gained via a number of qualifications, for example:
- BCC or above at A2 Level
- DMM or above at Extended Diploma Level
- M or above at UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma Level
A proven interest in the area of study is also required.

Remember that qualifications such as Graded Examinations in Music Performance and Arts Award (Gold) can also count towards your UCAS points – check the tariff calculator!
All applicants are expected to have at least a Level 4 or grade ‘C’ in GCSEs Maths and English Language or equivalent. Non-UK applicants will need to have an English Language qualification at International Level B2 or higher, such as an IELTS of 6.0 or better (with no component below 5.5). Students with equivalent qualifications will also be accepted.
Futureworks is able to accept any applications from applicants who require a Student Visa (formerly called Tier 4 Visa) to study in the UK. Entry criteria for International students will vary. Please see International Students for full details.

The institution code for Futureworks is ‘F98’. Previously our courses were listed under UCLAN as this is our validating university. You must now apply directly to Futureworks.

Frequently asked questions
I’m a mature student without any formal qualifications; can I study on a degree course?
A mature student is someone who is 21 or over, and may not have the necessary qualifications to start the course, however, your past work and life experiences may be enough for you to apply – if you’re unsure make sure you get in touch before you send your application.
Do you accept deferred applications?
Yes, Futureworks is happy to accept deferred applications to our Degree Programmes.
Applicants are able to defer their application for 1 year. This means that an applicant is able to apply for the following year of study on application.
Additionally, an applicant with an offer of study can defer their place to the next year. Please contact us if you have an offer and would like to defer your place admissions@futureworks.ac.uk
What if I can’t attend my interview at the allocated date/time?
We can sometimes be flexible with our interview dates and times. If you are unable to attend your interview, please contact our Admissions Officer on 0161 214 4602 or email admissions@futureworks.ac.uk to re-arrange. Please contact us as soon as you know that you are unable to attend.
What if I can’t afford to travel to my in-person interview?
We can help you with some of your expenses when travelling to an open day or interview – please see here for more details.
I didn’t meet the minimum entry requirements – what do I do?
If you have been made an offer for one of our courses and have failed to meet the conditions of your offer, you will need to call our Admissions department on 0161 214 4602 to discuss your application.
If you haven’t applied yet and have found a course you like, but don’t think you meet the entry requirements, you should call our Admissions Team on 0161 214 4602 to see if there is anything we can do. It may still be worth you applying for the course if you haven’t missed the requirements by much, or if you have a lot of experience in your chosen area of study.
My application hasn’t been successful and I would like to appeal – what do I need to do?
If you’ve applied for one of our courses but haven’t been successful, whether this is pre or post interview, or even if you have not met the conditions of your offer and have been told we can’t offer you a place, then you may submit an appeal, in writing, which should be sent to our Admissions department here: admissions@futureworks.ac.uk
