Working with
Nordoff Robbins

Futureworks is proud that our talented students have been working with Nordoff Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity.

Last month, Dylan Cheung, BA (Hons) Music Production undergraduate, managed a studio session for a four piece rock band in our Neve studio as part of a Nordoff-Robbins music therapy programme.

Futureworks has been working with Nordoff Robbins since 2018 when they first approached us on behalf of one of their service users who wanted to record vocals in a professional recording environment. We saw the opportunity to give some of our Music Production students a unique and fulfilling learning experience, while helping out a truly inspirational charity.

Each session is attended by experienced Nordoff Robbins therapists and run in conjunction with students – with the work counting towards their practical modules. It’s a great experience for both the charity’s service users, the therapists and our students with everyone getting something from these sessions.

Nordoff Robbins was founded 50 years ago and is dedicated to investigating the impact that music therapy can have for those affected by life-limiting illness, isolation or disability. The charity works hard to bring the benefits of music therapy to as many people as possible.
